Methodology

How we collect and verify data

Every dataset on this site follows the same process. If a number cannot be verified, it is not published.

1. Scope

Each dataset defines one metric, one market and one period. We do not mix definitions across pages, because a GMV figure is only comparable to another GMV figure measured the same way.

2. Collection

Data comes from public marketplace listings, official platform statements, financial disclosures and structured observation of public pages. Where a figure is estimated, the page says so.

3. Verification

Before publication, a figure must pass three checks:

  • It can be traced to a named source.
  • It is consistent with the previous period unless a change is explained.
  • It is dated and scoped to a specific market.

4. Updates

Each page carries a last-updated date. When a figure changes, the page changes and the date moves. We do not silently overwrite history.

5. Corrections

If you find an error, contact us. Verified corrections are applied and noted on the page.

Limitations

Marketplace data is often estimated from public signals rather than reported by the platforms themselves. Treat figures as best-available estimates, not audited financials.
